Chrome Coming To An Android Device Near You

Chrome for AndroidOne of the best things about Android is the wealth of options users have for almost any conceivable task, and the web browser being an especially important one with Firefox, Opera, and Dolphin all available to choose instead of the default Android option. Soon, however, those choices will have competition from Chrome.

According to a post on Chromium Code – work is already underway on the mobile version of the browser, and it may be released in the near future – possibly at Samsung’s Google Episode event at San Diego next week. Whether Chrome (the Google-backed open browser) will become the default browser on Android (the Google-backed open mobile OS) has not yet been announced, although it does seem likely. Some form of Google+ integration seems a strong possibility for the mobile browser as well, alongside easy link sharing and bookmark syncing.

Hopefully an announcement will come shortly…
