It was just yesterday that I was saying that all Sony Ericsson needed to get back into contention in the smartphone arena was a single bleeding-edge beauty – and that is what it looks like the Nozomi/Xperia Arc HD is going to be. The photos of the device may show it running Gingerbread, but I would be very surprised if it isn’t running Ice Cream Sandwich by launch next month at CES – but the specs look damn impressive right now.
From what we hear – the Nozomi/Xperia Arc HD will be packing a dual-core 1.5GHz CPU, 1GB RAM, a 1280×720px 4.3″ display, 32GB storage, and front and rear cameras – the latter of which is rumoured to be packing a 12-megapixel Sony Exmor R lens and sensor. This one looks like it might be leading the pack as we move into 2012.
