Samsung Supplying New iPad’s Retina Display

Apple and Samsung may be fighting over various technological patents in courts across the globe, but this bad blood has apparently not stopped Samsung being the supplier of the new iPad’s much heralded “Retina Display” with its 3.1 million pixels.

Samsung already manufactures the new 1GHz dual-core A5X CPU with its combined quad-core graphics processor that Apple claims outperforms anything else on the market. However, the Cupertino-based company were looking to LG or Sharp for the displays in its latest iPad – but they were unable to produce screens in the volumes needed at up to Apple’s quality requirements according to a report by iSuppli. This exclusive arrangement may well change in the future though as LG, the supplier of the screens for previous iPads, makes up the difference.
