Why News Corp will hold Storyful back
Storyful has been acquired by News Corp, the Murdoch-led company that owns The Times, the WSJ, The Sun, and Sky television amongst a number of other media companies. This link-up may look like a good move for the user generated content verifying company, but the acquisition will do little to enamour Murdoch to the internet, and this may just end up killing Storyful.
Paywalls Are a Last Resort
Information about this world we live in shouldn’t be locked out of the eyes of the majority of the population. But the problem we have at the moment is that internet advertising rates are so low that it is forcing newspapers to put up paywalls to make a return on the articles they publish.
