Samsung’s flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab 10.1, has once again been blocked from sale in Germany after Dusseldorf regional court judge Johanna Brueckner-Hoffmann upheld Apple’s previous preliminary injunction saying that the device’s “minimalist, modern form” of the two products gave a “clear impression of similarity”. This injunction now only relates to Germany, but it is certainly continuing to be an annoyance for the South Korean conglomerate.
This legal spat has been going on for months as Apple has claimed that Samsung has gained its popularity in smartphones after basically copying the look and feel of Apple’s sleek designs. Samsung contends that Apple’s device designs are not revolutionary and there we numerous tablets and smartphones developed in the years preceding Apple’s iPhone and iPad launches that had similar large screen and curved back plastic forms.
