Samsung have been banned from selling their flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab 10.1, in Australia for the last months after Apple managed to obtain an injunction from the Australian courts over the look and feel of the device as well as various patent claims – but Samsun have now had that decision overturned.
Samsung has redesigned parts of the Galaxy Tab in order to get around the court’s ban and Apple’s original complaints – a tactic that appears to have appeasedĀ Justice Lindsay Foster who will allow Samsung to start selling the device from this Friday, noting that Apple will have to appeal in the High Court if it wanted to extend the stay.
This is the first bit of good news for a while for Samsung in their legal wranglings with Apple as they fight for pole position in the smartphone and tablet arenas.
