As technology continues to evolve and advance, all kinds of areas of our lives are affected by it. The mobile gaming industry is no different as more and more people discover the fun and sheer variety at their fingertips. Everything from RPG style online games, to online bingo the popular games are benefiting from the advancements being made.
With all these changes, sometimes it’s hard to believe that it can still improve and get better, but when it comes to mobile gaming – it can ALWAYS get better. Here are a few predictions of what we can expect in the future of the mobile gaming industry.
Smartphones Aren’t Going Anywhere
The amount of people who own smartphones and tablets nowadays is rather staggering, and the fact of the matter is that this number won’t be shrinking any time soon. Games developers are well aware of this and in response are building gaming platforms and websites that are meant specifically for mobile use.
Here’s another staggering fact, video game developers are currently adding more than 430 games to the App Store on a daily basis! Those are just apps, never mind websites and online casinos so that are popping up daily.
As mobile device operating systems continue to be updated, developers also need to make updates to their games and ensure they run as they should. Look for this trend to continue on top of adding new games/apps/sites.
Mobile Option for All Games
Look for another trend to start taking place which is that all video console games will be moving towards offering a mobile version as well. That means some of your favourite titles that you were only able to play on your video game console will start to be available on your mobile device as well. This will be a slow but steady process, one which the public seems to be ready for.
YouTube Will Continue to See Success
Sure, we are aware that we can find a video of just about everything on YouTube, but did you know that YouTube has gaming channels? Well this is something that is really catching on and creating a lot of buzz. You can actually choose a channel and then watch someone else playing a video game. You may want to do this for informational purposes to see how to clear a level, or play a casino game. Maybe you want to check out a game before buying it, or watch for sheer entertainment. Regardless this is a trend that is really picking up and will continue to grow.
Big Profits Will Continue
The mobile gaming industry is quickly surpassing that of the console video game industry, and big companies are taking notice. Consumers just love the flexibility and freedom that mobile gaming offers, and this is only expected to continue to grow in the future. In 2016 it was expected that mobile game revenues would come in at just over $30 billion, whereas console game revenue would be around $26.4 billion, according to Newzoo. That’s certainly an impressive number where the mobile gaming industry is concerned, and one that may not have been anticipated just five years ago.
How Quickly Things Change
What the mobile gaming industry has managed to do is react to the current trends and climate and change quickly. They have been able to spot what gamers are looking for and provide them with it relatively quickly. Everything from apps, to online casinos have taken huge steps in improving the experience, graphics, and entertainment value and this will only continue in the future.
