The legal spat between Apple and Samsung continues today as the South Korean company has filed for preliminary injunctions in Australia to block sales of the iPhone 4S, and in Japan to block sales of the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2.
Samsung is claiming that Apple infringes its technology patents – something it they are trying to protect by filing for preliminary injunctions in the Tokyo District Court, Japan, and in the New South Wales Registry, Australia, saying
Apple has continued to violate our patent rights and free ride on our technology… We will no longer stand idly by and will steadfastly protect our intellectual property.
These filings come in the wake of Apple’s success in gaining a preliminary injunction preventing Samsung from selling the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia – with legal wrangling between the two companies now in 20 countries.
