How To Keep Your 25GB Of Free SkyDrive Cloud Storage

SkyDrive is Microsoft’s cloud storage solution that the company has done next to nothing to promote over the last few years, but has steadily improved with impressive apps for iOS and WP7, the ability to edit office documents within the interface, and the huge 25GB of free storage it offers. It may in fact be behind Samsung’s upcoming S-Cloud syncing solution for its flagship Galaxy S3 when it launches next month.

This 25GB of free storage, however, has recently been sharply reduced to 7GB for free users and then the ability to upgrade for an extra 20GB, 50GB, or 100GB for a very reasonable fee. But Microsoft has left a way for those people who have been using SkyDrive over the years to keep the original 25GB – you just need to act quickly.

To get your free storage back up to 25GB all you need to do is log into SkyDrive, and at the bottom left of the screen click the Manage Storage link. Here you will be confronted with the screen above offering you a free upgrade back to 25GB of storage as a “loyal SkyDrive user”.
