There are few digital tools that are used with quite the dependency of email. Yes millions of people use Twitter, and millions more use Facebook, but email is still the backbone of person-to-person communication over the internet, and Google’s GMail is the service used by the majority of those internet natives that are online 24 hours a day like those of us here in the TechFruit office.
With email so integral to much of our digital lives of both work and play, it is not surprising that when GMail goes down it is treated a little like the upcoming apocalypse.
