The next version of Samsung’s popular S-line of smartphones, the S5, could include eye recognition technology according to reports.
Speaking at CES 2014, EVP or Samsung Mobile Lee Young, hinted at the possibility of the inclusion of such future-tech, telling Bloomberg:
“Many people are fanatical about iris recognition technology. We are studying the possibility but can’t really say whether we will have it or not on the S5”
The new Galaxy S5, which is due for release in April, will also have a brand new look, with Samsung going “back to basics” and there are rumours that it will offer a metallic chassis, addressing one of the most common complaints of owners of the S3 and S4 – the cheap “feel” of the device.
Samsung will also be releasing a Gear successor, with a slimmer design and more advanced functions, doubling down on “wearable tech” being the future.
