A waterproof trend is beginning in Android smartphones, with both the Sony Xperia Z2 and the Samsung Galaxy S5 being able to withstand a quick dip, but this doesn’t make them “rugged”. Ruggedised technologies allow for gadgets withstand temperatures as low as -50 degrees Celsius, X-Rays, and earthquake tremors.
