A US eBay user claims to have a prototype iPhone 6 for sale on the auction site after reportedly being sent one by accident when she renewed her contract.
User kimberlyk1018 has posted pictures of the device, which has no FCC markings on the back, running in diagnostic mode and including internal apps the company uses to test devices before release. She says that the 64GB device also does not currently run iOS 8.
If the device is genuine, then it would be a very rare find for tech collectors, as kimberlyk1018 says:
“Apple does not let these phones out of their possession yet I was accidentally sent one upon renewing my contract.”
At time of publication there have been 170 bids, pushing the price up to over $88,000.
