Microsoft has announced that they are finally dropping the very 90s Clip Art that has been included with Office for the last couple of decades, and pointing people to a Bing Image Search for Creative Commons-licensed images online.
It’s great that Microsoft is pointing people to CC-licensed images that they can freely use, but most of these images will be photographs (bitmap) and not vectors, and so will not maintain their quality when stretched and manipulated.
So where should you look now for free or creative commons licensed vector images to use in your projects?
Freepik – a large selection of free vectors (and bitmap) categorised and tagged to make them easy to find.
Vecteezy – a huge selection of free vectors for your logos, mastheads, or others uses
FlatIcon – a fantastic selection of free vector icons for your projects
OpenClipArt – free clip art SVG vectors when you really need the Clip Art fix!
