If your office is starting to look a bit worn and your slightly more modern employees are always talking about the latest technology and gadgets, it may be time for update! We live in a world that’s ever-evolving, and if you get stuck in the ‘old days’, your business could suffer. Whether you’re still using old software which takes the whole morning to boot up, or it is just that the look of the rooms give off a ‘boring’ vibe, you need to make a change, quick! Transport your workplace into this modern era and swap that trash for trend.
Why not try adding a splash of colour? A patterned feature wall, or some brightly coloured furniture is a great way to brighten up the area and introduce a bit of life into the office! On a grim, rainy day, the last thing people want is to go to work, especially if they’re heading towards an equally as dull workplace. But a bright, colourful workspace can lift everyone’s mood and put them in a better mind set to start the day’s tasks!
An alternative way to brighten up your office is to change the lighting. If your office is dark and dull it can cause discomfort for your staff such as headaches. This, in turn, results in a lack of productivity. Also, don’t forget to replace any broken bulbs, including ones which are flickering, because not only do they become very irritating! But they could also trigger other issues for people suffering with epilepsy.
Knock down the walls, and open up your office! An open plan office encourages employees to interact with each other and build friendships, creating a fun and friendly atmosphere for you and your staff. Your employees will most likely feel more comfortable talking to you if they feel welcomed into your office.

Over time, chairs can lose their cushioning and become uncomfortable to sit on. To ensure your employees are comfy throughout the day, replace them every so often. Old style furniture in a modern setting can really kill an atmosphere and make the area look mismatched, avoid this by replacing them with more modern style, retro furniture.
Introducing recent, updated technology makes a company look relevant. It shows they keep up with new trends and are willing to make necessary changes for their business. Look into an interactive kiosk, they can be used as a check in/log in system for clients who enter the building. They could also be used to keep track of which of your employees are in the building throughout the day. This comes in handy for if there is a fire because you can monitor who is inside.
As time goes on, software gets older and slower and it is important for your company to update it frequently. Old software is more likely to suffer from a bug or virus, slowing the system down even more. Recent software has new features, for example better collaboration and communication. Being able to share documents with one another without having to email individual people saves a lot of time and makes tasks a lot simpler.
Have you find an easy way to bring your business out of the dark ages? We want to know how you’ve updated your workspace!
