If you’re still running the iOS7 operating system on your iPhone, it is likely that even if you’ve been running the system on your device for over a year, you still have not used all of its features. In fact, many people do not even realise just how many cool new features an operating system can bring to a device. There are so many unused features of the iOS 7 operating system, but there are five in particular that we really want to bring to your attention.
Store your passwords
So you may think that you would be asking for trouble by allowing Apple to store your passwords, but this feature of iOS 7 is actually more of a help than a hindrance – we promise!Your passwords will be encrypted and stored in the iCloud so you can be assured that they are secure. Each time you want to log into an online account or make a purchase online, your device can automatically enter your password from memory, which can be a real time saver.
Shake to undo
You know how you can use a keyboard shortcut to “undo” something that you typed on your laptop? Well,iOS 7 enables iPhone users to “undo” an action by simply shaking the phone – it couldn’t be easier. Shake your phone and undo something by accident? Simply shake it again to “redo”. This feature allows users to draft a text or e-mail much quicker by being able to undo and rectify typos or mistakes so easily. We are always surprised how many customers of Miami based Fix Apple Now store are not aware of this feature.
AirDrop
This feature is only available on the iPhone and newer models. Instead of relying on a variety of third party apps or costly MMS messages to send images, videos, contacts or any other media to another device, you can simply “drop” it using AirDrop. You will need to be connected to both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to use AirDrop. It allows you to send media to a connected device with just a few swift swipes.
Do not disturb
On occasion, we just want a bit of peace and quiet; some time to ourselves where we can shut off from the world and relax. iOS 7 introduced an update to the “Do Not Disturb” feature – a feature that was impossible to find even if you looked for it on iOS 6. Now with just the touch of an icon in the control centre, you can switch off incoming calls, texts and e-mails for whatever period of time you wish to do so.
Track overhead airplane movement
Okay, so this feature of iOS 7 won’t have a significant impact on your life, but it is a really cool way to keep you occupied when you are waiting for someone/something and you’re up to date with all your social media posts. Simply ask Siri “What Planes Are Overhead?” and she will launch a satellite screen thatwill show you the airline and flight numbers of any of any planes that are currently flying overhead as well as the altitude they are flying at. It’s a really awesome feature for keeping children occupied too!
IOS 7 is bursting with cool features that can be both useful and entertaining. Having read just five of them, you need to ask yourself if you’re using your device to its full potential?
