Copper lines are a thing from the past. Whether it is landline (which more and more families are moving away from) or business line, where more companies are relying on IT and wireless options, the use of copper lines being dug below ground is something which simply isn’t necessary in today’s day and age. So, why should this be eliminated and what are the benefits of going wireless?
Wireless links are just that – wireless. No digging, no having to build phone lines and towers, no need to connect various infrastructures above and below ground, are just a few of the many reasons to consider moving away from the copper alternative used in years past. Network performance is also greatly improved. With no wires and no blockage below the ground, there is no need to worry about dropped calls, missed calls, or other issues with reception when it comes to making or receiving calls.
In terms of the cost, wireless is also far cheaper. Due to the fact that phone companies don’t have to build wire towers, don’t have to dig below ground to install wiring, and can work with established IT companies to provide phone services, all of the savings are going to be passed down to the end consumer. Which is of course a benefit for those who do require the use of phone services, apart from mobile phones which nearly everyone owns today.
The main benefits of turning away from copper lines include:
- Versatility, affordability, ease of installation
- Limited issues with phone call quality, reception, dropped calls
- No need to build poles, dig below ground when installing phone services
Improved reliability, undeniable cost savings, versatility, reliability, and ease of expansion, are a few of the main reasons why more and more companies (and homes) have chosen to move away from the copper line system.
Whether it is for a business installing new phone lines or homeowners looking to add a landline, the use of copper lines is no longer needed today. With more and more technological improvements popping up on what seems to be a daily basis, companies can provide phone service without having to rely on the copper lines. This is not only going to benefit the end consumer who is using the phone service, but it is also a great cost saving for companies which do wireless installation, meaning both the end user and the company providing service are going to save when eliminating copper lines. If you are interested in upgrading to wireless then you could contact your local BT department.
