When people think of projectors, more often than not mental images pop up showcasing a movie theatre, or perhaps a big presentation in a school auditorium. Aside from its many different applications, projectors are also an iconic part of the culture that we live in. Despite this fact (or perhaps because of it), many people choose expensive televisions for their home theatres or offices simply because projectors are often seen as a gimmick of sorts, but that simply isn’t the case. Here are just a few reasons why projectors are still more than desirable today.
If you want the biggest screen, projectors are the first choice
While some of the more expensive televisions out there seem to resemble a theatre more than an actual television, it still cannot match the overall screen size and resolutions that a simple projector is capable of. Projectors are also sometimes called a two-piece projection system because it comes in two important pieces; the projector, and the screen where the image will be displayed. With the right kind of projector mount and a proper screen to complement it (a white wall will do just fine), you can get that familiar theatre feeling with the gigantic screen size to boot. There is simply no matching quality projector when it comes to overall screen size.
It is less expensive than its contemporary counterpart
It may be hard to believe, but it’s very true. When you look at the more expensive televisions being used for home theatres in the present day with a slew of different features, it’s easy to see why there’s such a hefty price tag. Projectors, however, have not changed intrinsically, improving in quality but not necessarily adding the same kinds of features. This means that a projector could end up being far less expensive than a high-end television. If you have a white wall that’s wide enough to accommodate the display, you won’t even need to purchase a screen.
You save on office or home space
Last but certainly not the least; a quality projector won’t take up nearly as much space as a large television, though you’ll still need to consider having enough space to show the display. However, this is easily rectified by a screen you can simply roll-up when not in use. It’s a great advantage to have, especially in places where space is an issue.
To conclude, many people see projectors as a kind of niche product compared to televisions because it simply hasn’t been marketed well enough over the years. However, they can prove to be very versatile and easy to handle, making them fine alternatives for anyone looking for something different. While they won’t necessarily replace smart televisions, they can create a theatre-accurate experience that is second to none.
