The launch of Samsung’s next flagship device, the Galaxy S3, is only a few weeks away and it is going to be one hell of a highly spec’ed piece of technology. But we are only just starting to see how impressive it will be performing against the competition.
Yes its screen is going to be bright and beautiful with its 720p 320 dpi 4.6″ display that improves upon the benchmark set by Apple’s Retina display in most directions. But under the hood it is going to be running a new processor – the quad-core Exynos 4412 to be more precise – a 1.4GHz brute with an ARM Mali-400 GPU. The processor is going to rule the roost in comparison with the nVidia Tegra 3s, Qualcomm Snapdragon S4s, Apple A5s, and even the PowerVR graphics of the A5X in the news iPad 3 according to PhoneArena – that is some serious power.
Some claim that Apple doesn’t compete on spec, but with the company boasting of the power of its A5X chip with its quad-core PowerVR graphics in the new iPad being four times better than that of the Tegra 3 – being beaten by a phone means that it appears that Apple simply can’t compete on spec anymore.
