“Crystal Eye XDR is a unified intelligence platform that quickly detects security incidents and automatically responds to shut down the threat and minimize the risk to your business.”

– Adam Bennett CEO of Red Piranha

Securing organizations against the growing threat landscape is an overwhelming task for many organizations, no matter their size; taking on such a monument task often has business leaders not knowing where to start, what initiatives to implement and how to execute an effective cyber defence that didn’t require the amalgamation of multiple vendors and products. “In our experience, previously, our partners and clients often relied on numerous security products across multiple vendors to protect their organization from cybersecurity threats. However, this strategy’s downfall is that it leads to a significant integration efforts and substantial costs. Comments Adam Bennett (Founder and CEO at Red Piranha).

This is where Crystal Eye XDR comes in; Red Piranha developed their CE XDR platform from the ground up, focusing on providing a holistic suite of threat management and prevention products and supporting services that ensure advanced protection, threat detection and incident response from a single platform securing the organization from the endpoint to Cloud.

What is XDR?

Leading Analyst Firm Gartner defines XDR as “A natural evolution of endpoint detection and response (EDR) platform…The primary value of an XDR product is to improve security operations productivity and enhance detection and response capabilities by including more security components into a unified whole that offers multiple streams of telemetry, presenting options for multiple forms of detection and concurrently enabling multiple methods of response[1]“. XDR is integrated security protection, incident detection and response platform. That collects and correlates data and inputs from multiple data streams and sessions, including:

  • Endpoint traffic (workstations, laptops, mobile phones)
  • Network edge traffic (routers, firewalls, switches and 5G nodes)
  • Cloud applications, platforms and service behaviours
  • Servers (databases)

This is an all-in-one platform that is pre-configured to be ready to go out-of-the-box. Hence, it delivers a consistent security level across a whole businesses environment without the complexity of integrating multiple products.

Addressing the industry needs

Before the launch of Crystal Eye XDR 4.0 earlier in 2021, Red Piranha launched its first Electronic Chief Information Security Officer (eCISO) in 2020. This provided businesses with an automated service that integrates directly with the Crystal Eye platform to deliver a range of cybersecurity tasks, helping them develop a detailed information security plan.

Red Piranha’s eCISO addresses the industry need that most organizations face globally—a cybersecurity skills shortage. Today, the need for a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) has significantly increased. However, the affordability and availability of individuals with this expertise and experience are rare.

Our approach provides a cost-effective option for businesses to gain access to the means to create security plans, manage compliance, generate detailed reports on security systems, and deliver the majority of the critical pieces of information a full-time CISO or a contracted VCISO would provide,” says Adam.

A driven innovator

When Red Piranha was established, Adam managed several operations from development, marketing, sales, customer service, human resources, etc. Over the years, he has built a strong team that allows him to focus on innovative product development while also playing an instrumental role in every element of Red Piranha’s operations.

Under Adam’s auspices, Red Piranha has grown from a young company with mere four employees into a global organization with team members throughout Australasia, the Americas, the Middle-East, and Europe. He believes that establishing an effective onboarding program to induct and bring new hires up to speed through in-depth education and training solutions has helped develop a strong company culture. Additionally, he accredits Red Piranha’s success to the highly talented and passionate employees who believe in its mission and vision.

Providing a competitive advantage

While other companies are making acquisitions to merge technology stacks to race towards what might resemble an XDR platform, Red Piranha has and will continue to provide engineered Crystal Eye XDR from the ground up. “Our new Crystal Eye XDR 4.0 is at the forefront of the XDR wave; we have taken the original and industry-leading XDR platform on the market and added more features,” says Adam.

The company’s drive to develop and grow a holistic security solution and associated suite of services focus on providing the three pillars of cybersecurity protection, detection, and response. Red Piranha has created a competitive advantage for its customers as they can reduce the likelihood of an incident and the time taken to detect and respond to the threat, allowing them to return to business as usual promptly.

Expanding the portfolio

Red Piranha has planned to continue to support its existing global customer base, where it has had massive interest from partners across the world. In 2021, the company envisions expanding its sales and customer support in the existing markets and expand its market share within Australia and New Zealand, Europe, and the USA.

In 2020, Red Piranha partnered with North Metro TAFE, an iconic Western Australia Educational Institution, and Gannon University in the United States. The company plans to continue its focus on expanding its global educational partnerships. Moreover, it aims to develop and expand their focus on training students in the new approach to managing cybersecurity threats in the evolving landscape and the latest threat detection techniques.
