This year is shaping up to be one of the best for a while in terms of video games, with ground-breaking release from big studios and small indies alike.
A Way Out
Following the success of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, game director Josef Fares teamed up with Swedish developers Hazelight Studios and EA Originals on this split screen action/adventure multiplayer where gamers play one of two brothers that escape prison and become fugitives on-the-run from police.
The game sold over a million copies on Windows, PS4, and Xbox One in its first two weeks, with critics calling it a “a true achievement in game design” and “nothing short of an awesome experience”.
God of War
Available exclusively for the PS4, God of War is a third-person action-adventure game that is one of the jewels in Sony’s crown this year. Not to be confused with Age of Gods (Jeux casino en ligne), the eighth release in the God of War series incorporates Norse mythology into the series for the first time, and is centred around Kratos, a former Greek god, and his young son Atreus.
The game has received universal acclaim from critics for its narrative, world design, art direction and graphical quality, with reviewer describing it as “one of those rare titles that define the console generation”.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
Due to be released in the coming months, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night marks the return of famed Castlevania director Koji Igarashi to the Metroidvania genre after his departure from Konami. The Kickstarter campaign for the game reached its target of $500,000 in two hours and surpassed $1m within the first day, with fans excited to see what Igarashi has in store.
The game, which tells the story of Miriam, a cursed orphan who must fight her way through a castle filled with demons and other might creatures to find a cure, will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Switch, Vita, and PC.
Code Vein
Inspired by the Dark Souls games series, Code Vein is an upcoming action role-playing video game set in a post-apocalyptic dystopia filled with vampires looking to satisfy their bloodlust. The anime design and outlandish storyline should make the game a lot of fun to play on XBOX, PS4, and PC when in drops later this year.
